Romans was historically France’s shoemaking capital, and for several decades the town’s footwear industry had a worldwide reputation. In the 2010s, new brands and artisan shoemakers established here, reviving the local footwear industry. This living museum includes shoemaking workshops open to the public and a shop selling a variety of shoe brands made exclusively in Romans.
