Samoëns American Festival - Concert with Hillbilly Rockers
Samoëns
The Hillbilly Rockers Band is a country music group that was founded in April 1999. It was born from the passion of Franck Bauquis, drummer, for this music that he has always loved.
Over the years, the band has played numerous concerts throughout the Rhône-Alpes region and in Switzerland. The Hillbilly Rockers made a name for themselves in their region, while country music and line dancing made their way into Europe.
In 2004, the band underwent an important change of musicians. Jimmy, a multi-instrumentalist, and Astrid, a singer, joined Hillbilly Rockers.
2011 will mark a new era for Hillbilly, which will inspire the title of their new album "Update 3.0". Change of repertoire, change of sound and change of musicians: Leo joins the band with his violin, and Lionel takes the bass.
The band then went on the stages of the most beautiful festivals and gained experience while sharing the stage with great artists, such as Joni Harms whom they accompanied in 2013 and 2016.
In 2015, the group is writing a new page in its history. The Hillbillys starred in the film "Les Cowboys" with François Damiens, and Astrid began to compose. This led to the album 'Hillbilly Highways', released a few days before the birth of Astrid's first son.
From winning the Tremplin du Festival de Marignac (CH) in 2004, to the Festival d'Equiblues in 2015, via the Country Rendez-vous de Craponne in 2012 and the Festival d'Evreux in 2013, they have come a long way to become what they are today. Several awards celebrate their work: Best female vocalist for Astrid in 2010 (FCMA), 2011 (FCMA), 2012 (HighwayFM Awards), 2013 (HighwayFM Awards) and Best band 2015 (CMA France Awards) and 2017 (Hall of Fame, Spain).
With all its members, the band continues to progress, its style asserting itself through its music and its contact with the public.
Each concert brings its own surprises: an acoustic part, a 5-voice piece, etc. Supported by a solid rhythm/bass base, the guitar and fiddle blend and respond to each other. The voice is country and sincere. Moreover, the absolute understanding of all makes each concert a moment of joy and sharing!
