In this high perched - and, some would say, somewhat remote - village, the museum focuses on the core subject of high-mountains. A 400m² exhibition area located in the heart of the mountains depicts the history of Alpine mountaineering, together with the strong emotions of this sport, synonymous with adventure and liberty. Explore this high-altitude world via the adventures of the pioneering mountaineers and the early guides, such as Gaspard, the very first person to climb the Meije. Climb up onto these renowned peaks alongside the very first women mountaineers. Lastly, the temporary exhibition takes you on a trip inside the ice. LABEL : The museum is a member of the "Route des Savoir-Faire de l'Oisans".

Open every day until 30 September from 10am to 12.30pm & from 2pm to 6pm.
The museum will be closed from October 1st to the end of the year for works in the common reception area of the Museum & Tourist Office.
