The town is squeezed around the Abbey of St. Caesarius, a 14th century gothic vessel, and has retained the almost perfect circular shape of its ramparts. The abbey church contains the reliquary bust of Caesarius, a masterpiece of 12th century goldsmith's art, as well as a collection of beautiful wooden statues and sculpted stalls, unique in Auvergne. Wednesday visits in French at 10:30 am in July and August.
