Description

Its 69m high arch dam was built in 1950 to produce electricity. The spruce-wooded slopes that border it give it the proud appearance of a mountain lake. The lake is home to one of Europe's largest heronries, and predator fishing is an unforgettable experience: day permit (€12) or holiday permit (€33) on sale at www.cartedepeche.fr (enter 15150 ARNAC).
Beach facilities + boat launch: La Gineste (southern bank) and Longayroux (northern bank).
