From the car park, backtrack for a hundred metres or so and take the winding uphill path, then head East on a vehicle track which takes you to Vallonbrun refuge. From there, go right onto the GR5 great hiking trail towards "Fesse du Milieu". Turn right off the GR5 trail and, when you reach the Diet stream, head directly North. After crossing the stream, the path becomes steeper and climbs across a rock barrier to the Pierre aux Pieds (a rock engraved with cupules and footprints). Variant departing from the Madeleine Pass: Behind the chapel, take the GR5 hiking trail. After crossing "Le Mollard" (old chalets), head West towards Vallonbrun refuge. 1 hour 30 minutes. Please preserve the engravings by staying off the rock.
