The Delphine castle (12th century), on its strategic headland, is an evidence of the evolution of the city: massive strenghthen doors (14th century), a majestic covered market (15th century), an Augustinian convent alongside the defences of the city(14th-19th century) and its cloister (17th century)... All of these remains show the glorious past of Crémieu, when it had a military, economic and religious importance.
The medieval city of Crémieu is classified as a ZPPAUP (Urban and Rural Architectural Heritage Protection Zone).
