“Factory tracks” we choose this way to make you discover the Haute Bourbre valley The word “factories” evokes in a first hand the sites, factories and workshops where we discover the remainsof the old times during a walk. But, for us, it’s above all a reference to an era “ the period of the fabrics”, at the end of the 19th century. This time, when a brand new railway links Lyon and Grenoble, sees in the villages the upcoming of business owners which built here and there new factories ; at the same time , the countryside welcomes new city halls and schools, brand new and moderns ; crosses appears at every crossroads and bars in every village ; bosses built huge houses surrounded by nice green areas, meanwhile women, discover the work in factories.
You’re going to ride a bike from a village to another : Virieu, Panissage, Chassignieu, Saint-Ondras, Chélieu and Blandin, and also the furthest valley going up to Valencogne. An old glacial valley occupied before by ponds ; on either sides, farming plateau. Those offers nice and easy walks in the heart of the nature.
