Back in the day ... bar and hotel owners in the valley used to cut ice from the glacier for use in their premises.
Above the village, take the Chemin du Chens, which winds its way across meadows and on into the forest. Follow this path to the top of the chairlift and the chalet.
You can also continue further on, to the Chalet des Pyramides and even to La Jonction.
